Easter is Sunday! Orchestra and Praise Team warm-up begins at 7 and Choir at 7:30 for 3 services. I’ll be providing breakfast for all music and AVL participants Sunday morning. We’ll have assorted biscuits (butter, sausage, chicken, and bacon/egg/cheese) and a bottle of water for you. Here’s the plan for breakfast. Please be flexible 🙂
Choir, at the end of your song at the 8 am service, you’ll exit and walk around to the fellowship building where you can get your food. As soon as the orchestra/PT are finished before the sermon, they will do the same. If you had planned to stay for the whole of the 8 am service and sermon and want to eat, please let Jana know ASAP so we can hold back something for you to eat quickly between the 8 and 9:30 services.
Please plan to stay on the platform for the sermon of the service you choose to do that for. Orchestra, we’ll fill in the holes in the choir loft after you play. In fact, not to get into too much detail on this e-mail, but we’ll need to stay on the platform until we move out the sanctuary temporarily this summer. Next week they’ll be erecting walls to begin expansion that will reduce our current seating and we need to use the platform to give us enough seating. I realize there will always be extenuating circumstances, but all who CAN stay up, let’s aim to do that. Again, I thank you for your flexibility during this time.
Our Spring Concert is scheduled for May 1st. We will have reduced seating capacity, but we will livestream the concert. The dress will be typical of previous Spring Concerts- solid shirts (Spring Colors) and solid pants/full-skirts. I’m working on the order this week and will have it to you soon. If you’re a digital user, you’ll notice there’s already a Spring Concert folder created. I’ll be shifting some things around in the coming days and then your folder will be complete. We’ll provide paper copies of the order for choir members still using folders and you’ll need to re-arrange your music yourself.
We will continue to rehearse each week for the first several Wednesdays of May to make sure we’re ready for the services in May; however, beginning with the first Sunday in June, we will not lead as a choir and full orchestra for at least 12 weeks. I will be planning some opportunities for us to stay connected, but once we move to the Fellowship Building for the summer, we will be limited on room and cannot lead all together for that time frame.
Lastly, Deanna and I wanted to personally invite you to a party celebrating Jon Thomas’ and Tyler’s graduation from high school at our home in May. Below is an invite. Many of you remember the 8 year old boys that arrived with us almost 10 years ago and you’ve watched them grow. So many of you have made an imprint on their lives and I think I speak for Deanna as well that we are thankful to serve a church who has loved our family so well. I know you’ll want to wish them well, even if you cannot attend the party.
