Thursday’s Thoughts from Will 01.09.2020

It was great to be back in rehearsals last night. We had great attendance as well. In fact we were almost out of regular seating in choir last night and we welcomed four new members to choir and two to orchestra. Praise God as He continues to grow His church. As a reminder, flexibility in regards to seating is essential as we continue to find ways to make sure everyone is in the right spot. Please grant me grace as I try to find the right combinations for our new folks without disrupting our existing seating. Thank you in advance!

We have some new music we read through last night. You may find audio recordings to these songs and more at Current Choral Music (Audio). You’ll notice there are a few songs that aren’t in your folders yet (Ashes, And Can it Be, and Were You There), but you can at least hear some of the things we’ll be learning in the next few months.

We also mentioned several prayer requests last night. We have a dynamic prayer list that is updated regularly and you may find it here: Prayer Requests and Praises. If you’d like a request to be added to this list, please email me anytime and I will add it that day.

Since we do have some new members this year, I wanted to remind everyone our Sunday morning “process.” Our orchestra and praise team members will gather at 8:30 in the sanctuary for warm-up and run-throughs. Choir is expected to be in the loft at 9:10 for run-through before the 9:30 service. As soon as we sing at the 9:30 service (usually 10 minutes into the service) choir members will exit and go either into the congregation or to Sunday school. We will re-gather in the loft just before the 11:00 service and repeat. Our rehearsal situation is obviously not ideal, not unlike our physical space, but it’s what we have to work with for now.

See you Sunday as we gather for worship. Here’s a copy of the worship order for Sunday:

Worship Order 01.12

Choir and Orchestra will present “When He Comes Again.” I hope you’ll join us!
